Who Am I?

and how I am figuring it out...

October 16, 2023

I want to start by saying this..

It is 100% worth asking yourself the question, "who am I?" and having patience in waiting for your true self to arrive.

In fact, I believe we should repeatedly ask ourselves this question because it is a foolproof way to make sure you are consistently aligning and realigning yourself with who you are at a soul level so that you can live genuinely, and authentically.

Over the past few months I began asking myself this question daily... yes, daily.

Who am I?

Its pretty surprising what came up a few months ago, as compared to what has been coming up now.

We find labels and pacify ourselves with surface level nonsense. You know, statements like, I'm a mom, a (insert profession), a girlfriend/partner/wife, a friend, a daughter... blah blah blah...

But the next day comes, and you ask yourself this question of "who am I?" again, and well, now you have to dig a little deeper. I'm a happy person, I'm generous and giving, I love yoga and meditation... repeat some blah blah blah...

And again the next day... I'm spiritual, I'm loving, I'm into this or that...

With each passing day it becomes more challenging to answer this question for yourself, and soon you begin fishing within your own vocabulary just to find answers to your own personal test.

Why?

You have to dig deeper and deeper with each passing day... and because you have to be willing...

~willing to hold that shovel of courage in your energetic hands and remove the stones one by one that have buried your true identity...

~willing to accept that what you find may not at all be how you are living your life right now..

and you will be faced with the choice of having to stay where you are or correct your path... and that my friend, is key.

Let me ask you this...

Do you live your life on auto-pilot? How often, within just this year, have you remarked "wow this year has gone by so fast"?

Does your life resemble groundhog's day? Do you wake up to do another day of the same things you just did today? Tomorrow will you wake up and already have a generalized version of how your day will play out?

Well, that's how I fell into the dark night of the soul I have been writing about for the past few weeks. (take a look at some of the most recent articles in my blog HERE)

Without sounding a bit like the Matrix,

you, me and we have been programmed...

and when you begin asking yourself the very short question "who am I?" repeatedly, you begin to find very deep layers of who you were told to be... which is not who you really are.

This is what I have been working on, this soul work and the shadow work of unveiling the depths of who I am, and let me tell you its uncomfortable, and I feel bare naked, but also extremely humbled and awakened.

What I have found is just how out of alignment my heart is with my head, and my soul with my higher self.

And now I breathe a sigh of relief.

Because now.. now I see where I veered from my soul's path, and it allows me to course-correct.

I've known since I was a small child that I am here with a teachers purpose, and I have definitely found ways of teaching. BUT, other people's concerns, belief systems, and ideas around money ultimately guided me down a different path.

I have so much creativity and intuition that has been suppressed in exchange for a degree in science and a mind rooted in logic.

This. Is. Not. Who. I. Am.

And now what I have found is a life that is out of alignment.

THIS RIGHT HERE is why people don't want to ask the question "Who am I?" because once you know, then change is inevitable. Most people don't want to work on creating change.

Change stirs the pot.

Change bothers other people.

Change can be painful, hurtful even.

But change is the only way of leveling up to something better. Change brings new opportunities, and a new awareness of your inner and outer realities.

I'm figuring out what the path is.. I'm figuring out how to course-correct..

I'm realizing the strength within my heart.. I'm revealing the passion within my soul.

And I am here for you to do the same.

ASK yourself "who am I?" day after day after day...

and with patience, time, and space in mental silence,

your true essence will awaken and show you where to start.

With Blessings,

Tara Renee'
